Decisions

They scare me. Do I not trust my instincts? Is it due to fear?  Am I unwilling to take responsibility for the eventual consequences?

I don't know. It could be all of the above. It could be none.

I like to hear friend's advice before committing to a decision. I strive to take the best advice. My grandma gave me good advice once: Don't take anyone's advice except for God's. In the end, His is the one that really matters.

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms Hell take and shield you; you will find a solace there.

Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.

These words were inspired. They are full of promise, of assistance, of guidance. How wonderful to know that despite fickleness and indecisiveness, our Lord will shield us and bear our burdens. What a privilege it is to pray, indeed. Unfortunately I need reminding once in a while.

We need to bring old hymns back.
(if you're reading this through reader, go to my actual page and listen to the hymn. It's inspiring!).

  1. I think the best advice I could give is just to pray a lot and seek God's will. I think His advice is a lot more valuable than mine. The hymn says it all- We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.

I'm praying for you! Love you :)
